Joseph Pilates originated the Pilates method in the early 20th century as a rehabilitation program for veterans of the First World War. More recently, STOTT PILATES resulted from a collaboration of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, who incorporated modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation to develop one of the safest and most effective methods available.
